She said that she really liked how the pictures on the pages moved and the voices were silly and fun. She also liked that she could either have the whole book read to her, stop it and read herself or click on the words and read along. Pie had fun doing the quizzes at the end and was excited when she aced them :) Full Review on A Hen's Nest

Wizz-e books are very stimulating with bright colors, excellent illustrations and great animation. C's favorites are "What Time Is It", and "Simple Math - addition to 10". She really loved it. In a short amount of time she learned how to read a clock and was doing math addition problems. There is a simplicity to the books while still being forward thinking and complicated enough for kids to actually learn. Full review here

Not all of the e-books are free, but they are SO high quality and definitely worth any investment. The Wizz-e ebooks are a wonderful way to read a story as a class on a projector or interactive whiteboard. With the large print and pictures, every student in the class can read along and see the illustrations clearly. These ebooks also make for an excellent reading center on classroom computers.Full review here

I really do like the website and would recommend it to everyone who has young children. One of the first things my husband said about it after watching Thaddeus with it was how he could see spending money on something like this, and I agree. It’s a great way to teach your children to read and have entertainment at the same time. Read the review at FrugalPlus here

This website allows my son to do something he enjoys while allowing me to not feel guilty. If you are looking for a way to encourage reading with your children, this could be it. Review at GuessingAllTheWay.com

My kids loved these stories. They were colorful and interactive. Blake really liked that they hi lighted the word as the story was read aloud to them. They can read the story by themselves also. He listened to the story a few times and then tried on his own. I liked I was able to set him up and he could run the easy to use software. He clicked the book. Then clicked read story button. After that the boys were off on a story adventure as they claimed to be. Read the full review here

Wizz-e.com is a delightful and entertaining site to explore eBooks which my children were interested in. Their eBooks had wonderful illustrations, interesting storylines, and cute animations that seem to make the book come alive. Wizz-e.com's eBooks not only captured my kids' attention, but helped them to retain the story and its sequence in their minds - as confirmed by their correct answers at the quiz at the end of each story. These are all high-quality e-books that are as educational as they are entertaining. My son is just learning how to read, and these books are making it easier to teach him. If he wants to know what a page says he can turn on the narration. If he wants to read at his own pace he turns the narration off. Of course, nothing can substitute reading the stories together with your child, but animations are more engaging than the still images in an “old-school” picture book. Read Larry's review here

I think this is definitely a great way for her to add more words to her reading list. She has always loved books and this just contributes to it. If your child loves being read to this is an amazing site to visit. Review of ebooks here

I really think this is something we need to get our children more involved with. I do believe soon enough many of our childrens text books will be online. I think this is a good way to get our young children using the computer in a more educational way. see the full review here

I wasn't sure how my daughter who is only 2 would take to reading a story on the computer, but I should have KNOWN better. She LOVED it. It was a great way for her to gain confidence on the basics of using a computer (mouse, button usage) and have someone else besides her family reading stories to her (which she adores). Read the full review here This would be great for family time/wind down at night like we did. It doesn't replace the feel and moment of opening a new book in your hands, but it does come close!

just about anyone who enjoys animated pictures, sounds and moving pages will enjoy it! With pre-school and other great learning activities. My son is always asking to “read” the books every time he sees me on the computer! Review posted on 12th Aug on MyAngelsKisses

We were expecting an ordinary ebook but this was way better! The colors where crisp and the illustrations were beautiful. Kayla was even surprised. She had the choose of reading the book by herself or have it read to her. She wanted it read to her and really enjoyed it. While it was being read to her, the pace was not too fast or too slow and the pages turned automatically. The coolest part was the moving of the illustrations!! Kayla loved that part. During the story Hoop-La the Hippo sung a song and the guy reading it sang it too. Read the full review here at 1StopMomGiveaways

My 4 year old really liked click the button to turn the page & seeing the animations of the floppy rabbit. Jordyn was so excited that she could control the book & that it was on the computer. I really like the quiz at the end as well. Very good for comprehension. This would be great for traveling. I like how you can switch between three different modes. You read it yourself, the narrator reads it or you can read it word for word with the narrators help.

by Janel W, parent of Jordyn (4yrs)

I strongly recommend that you check out WIZZ-E and take a look around. I have not found anything like this company, and I really feel that children need a program like this at their schools or their homes. full review here

Bruno, who is 4, was enthralled by the ebook. This was our first time looking at one. He was rivited to the pc screen and loved it. He was smiling at the end and wanted to do it again. This is a new and interesting and FUN way to look at books using technology that is enriched.

by Molly, mother of Bruno age 4

Beth (5) loved sitting and reading/listening by herself. Jay (3) loved to point at the pictures. Try ebooks for your children as all kids love computers and it brings books to life. Fab for families and schools. Bring books to life and make reading even more fun.

by Sarah, mum to a 5yr old and 3 yr old.

I think the notion of traditional books is far beyond important. However ebooks such as wizz-e will allow the child to be very interactive and pay attention throughout the read. As a plus their imagination will become more creative thanks to the illustrations! ebooks have allowed my daughter to see how a read would allow your imagination to run wild by smiling and following the voice...at 18 months! She was very attentive to the books!

by L.R. father of I.R. (18 months)

She loved the fact that it was very easy for her to have repetition of any word or sentence that caught her interest.

Wizz-E.com, provide the best introduction a child can get to today's interactive world of reading.

These ebooks are an excelent choice for reluctant readers! Jarod and Eugene (both aged 7) were amazed and completely enjoyed the stories they read.

by teacher

Wizz-E.com provides the very best in children’s ebooks. Not only are they the best quality, they are fully animated, full color and the characters in the story read the words aloud for those still in the process of learning to read.

by Fun Educational Games

I must say I was impressed. The books load quickly, move at a great pace and as the story is read, the words are highlighted, which I think is fantastic for new or beginning readers. The kids can easily follow along with the story, but also have the animation and movement of the characters in the story. Both of my little ones sat mesmorized listening to all of the stories. They couldn't get enough.

by Jen McGlasson at KidFriendlyMommyApproves Blog

it is a great way for students to practice reading; providing the option to have it read to them. I believe e-books are another tool to assist children to enjoy reading.

by a teacher

A great way to get children more interested in reading, and even if they are it ensures its not just school books that get read as kids just love reading via the computer. James just would not let go of the mouse as he navigated through the pages!

by Mrs Long, parent of James (7), Katie (8)

Ebooks are a chance for children to see the story come to life and to learn computer skills at the same time.

by Sarah P., pre-school teacher

This is a wonderful opportunity for you to bond with your children while teaching them some basics about the computer as well as allowing them to learn new skills like counting and recognition. Delaney (5) loved the sounds that accompanied the stories -and thought it was great fun that she could be in charge from beginning to end. I think kids will love the autonomy - they can 'read' completely on their own. So much fun!

by Danielle, parent of Delaney (5)

This is the most relevant way to engage young learners to read (takes in the senses). We must remember that young learners are "natives" to technology, making e-books a perfect conduit of literacy for gen-x.In classrooms all over, we have many kinds of learners. That said, as educators, we need to provide choices that meet the needs of all kinds of minds. E-books engage the mind by making the child feel capable of the task at hand (reading)--a reader reads the story aloud or the child can opt to read the story of his/her own. Second, e-books give the child autonomy--choice (reader or self). Lastly, if e-books are provided to struggling readers, they will have a sense of belonging (nonjudgmental approach) and as a result of the aforementioned, the child will be motivated to read more.

by Robin S.G. - teacher

The movement in the pictures and the narraration is entertaining to children and makes them feel like they are capable of "reading" a book on their own. It gives them a sense of accomplishment.

by Shaundra, parent of Hannah (almost 3yrs)

Isabella 6 likes that the ebook reads to her and she can follow along. I think this would be a great tool to make reading fun for kids that may be having a bit of trouble or do not like reading. It comes at it from a more entertaining new angle.

by Harmony P, parent of Isabella (6yrs)

I was surprised at how nice an experience it is because you have to snuggle close together to watch the screen. This is a great alternative to reading with your child, especially on nights when you are both sleepy! The way the words become red when spoken is a great tool for teaching children how to read. My son, aged almost four loved Hoop-la the Hippo and it made him sleepy enough to go straight to sleep afterwards!

by Mum to two (3.8 years and 8 months)

It is nice to be able to go right to the computer and give my son a book to read! John, age 16 a special needs child, these books give him another outlet to access books he can handle.

by John A. and parent Debbie [parent of six children.]

E-books assist with developing the imagination of children and is a novel way of reading stories. Non-readers or those who have difficulty in reading will come across familiar words as they follow the narrator. SO it will assist in increasing word memory, memory of sight words and gives children the longing to own their own book and so read it themselves. In essence they become willing to learn to read.Ken now 6 liked the fact that he didn't have to wait till i had time to read in order to access his favorite stories.

by Ann Marie V, student teacher and concern neighborhood teacher

Here's something that will speed up your child's grasp of both word sounds, and their spelling. It's also great that they can use it to learn by themselves for those with a busy lifestyle, or who would like to teach their children independent learning.Jack (4) actually laughed when words soundings were repeated and it became a game for him to be able to repeat the sound as quickly as possible after we clicked on a word. Loads of fun.

by Andre D, parent of Jack (4 yrs)

A mix of reading and computer skills is always a great thing for your kid to learn!

They are a great way to get your kids reading and computer savvy at the same time. KMC age 7.5 yrs thought it was "really cool mom!"

by Cathi C. parent of KMC age 7.5yrs

When I first suggested to my two year old son that we read some picture book stories on the computer I had many reservations, I wasn't convinced that he would engage with the material as much as he does when reading a standard printed picture book, and that his patience would deteriorate rapidly, I was very wrong. The Wizz-e site is extremely easy to navigate and the aesthetics of bold colours and fun illustrations immediately warm you to the idea of this way of story telling. My original reservations were totally un-justified and after spending time reading and listening to the ebooks on offer at Wizz-e, myself and my two year old son can't recommend this site enough, please go and discover.

What a great idea, especially the fact that kids can have a go at reading it for themselves. The site is easy to navigate and appealing to look at.
